Waterfall is a well known and very versatile work boat, capable of Crew Transfer, Dive support, Survey work.
She's powered by twin C18 caterpillar engines which are managed by a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance System.
She is capable of 18 knots sprint but she cruises at 15-16 kts (loaded) and uses around 320L/Hr (combined) at 1900 rpm. Fuel Capacity 4600L in 4 tanks. Fresh water 750L. Deck Space Aft – 24m2, 4 tonne load. Forward – 15m2 – 2 tonne load. On the aft deck she has a useful crane and has transom gates and Port/Starboard gates for ease of access over the side.
She is fitted with 2 moon pools just to the rear of the cabin. The larger of the two on the port side is 500mm in diameter and is fitted with runners and orientation lugs. The starboard moonpool is 380mm in diameter and both use a 145mmØ with M8 fixing holes flange at the bottom end.
Internally the main cabin is well laid out and can easily be transformed from seating for 12 passengers to seating for 6 with a large survey table taking up the Port side of the cabin. In addition there is a galley area with bench seating and a heads compartment with toilet, hand basin and shower. There are 2 x Webasto cabin heaters.
The main Helm station is located in the centre of the cabin and on either side of the cabin is a stair case leading down to the crew accommodation (4 bunks in total) and the 2 Forward Storage Holds that provide a lot of storage for spares and consumables. These holds also have an emergency exit hatch to the deck.
Above the main cabin is the upper wheel house which provides a superb all round view for the helm in situations that require it and also provides an excellent viewing platform for bird and mammal surveys. Engine controls duplicated in the upper bridge.
The engines are accessed from the aft deck via a ladder that leads to the engine room and the tank room.
She is currently antifouled with Intersleek 1100SR (10 year life) applied in Nov 2017
All the safety gear on board is owned with the exception of the life rafts which are hired and could be transferred subject to agreement.
